Alabama Clan Tribal Mother Seal

Florida Clan Tribal Mother Singing Dove

For seventeen years I was Office Manager, Head Draftsman and Estimator for a Truss Company. I enjoy working with my hands, making porcelain dolls, needle work, wood work.

With The United Cherokee Nation (UCN) I am able to carry on my heritage to my great grandchildren.

I am honored to be Clan Mother of The United Cherokee Nation Florida Clan.

My name of Singing Dove was given to me by a former chief; he said the name was because I always have a cheerful lilt to my voice.

I am here for my chief and the members of Florida, to help them and to do what is asked of me.

Wado

Tennessee Clan Tribal Mother Seeker of the Truth

O'siyo to all,

My name is Linda Hatt. My Cherokee name is," Seeker of the Truth". “Seeker”. I live in Sparta Tennessee. I have accepted the position as Tribal Mother for the Tennessee Clan.

I have been married for 39 years to Bill Hatt. He had a Navy career of 27 ½ years. I have lived all over this great nation but mostly on the east coast.

I am a mother of four also the Grandmother of four. Five weeks ago the next generation was born, which makes me a Great-Grandmother. My granddaughter gave birth to a little boy by the name of Adrian. He has real good lungs. My daughter and I where actually involved in the birthing process. So with the baby that makes four generation's working together.

As with many of you, I didn't know about my Cherokee heritage until I was 47 years old. I didn't do much about it until 3 years ago. It seemed every time I tried to find more information through the traditional ways; I hit a brick wall especially being a mixed blood. Then I found out that my Fathers family had hidden all the important family genealogy information about our bloodline because of fear. Fear of being forced on to a reservation or not being able to get work to support their family. I will do my best to serve the Tennessee Clan of The United Cherokee Nation (UCN), as their Tribal Mother.

I Am Seeker

Seeker of the Truth (Linda)
